Pregnancy REFLEXOLOGY
Support for you

A gentle, natural way to feel more relaxed, supported and in balance throughout
your pregnancy.
How reflexology can help
Pregnancy can be wonderful, but it can also be tiring, uncomfortable and a lot to process. There are appointments, physical changes, broken sleep and usually plenty of advice coming at you from every direction. Pregnancy reflexology gives you an hour where you don’t need to do anything. I offer pregnancy reflexology from my treatment room in Alexandra Palace, North London.

second trimester

what is pregnancy reflexology
It’s simply reflexology adapted to you during pregnancy. Before we start, we’ll talk about how many weeks pregnant you are, how things have been going and whether there is anything I need to know. As your pregnancy progresses, I make sure you are positioned in whatever way feels most comfortable. You don’t need to lie flat if that doesn’t feel good. You stay fully clothed apart from your socks and shoes, then you can talk, close your eyes or fall asleep.
Frequently Asked Questions
WHY DO PEOPLE COME FOR REFLEXOLOGY DURING PREGNANCY?
There doesn’t always need to be a specific reason. Some women come because they are finding pregnancy physically tiring. Some are struggling to switch off or sleep. Some have been through a difficult fertility journey beforehand and find pregnancy more emotionally complicated than they expected. Some simply want something in the diary that is completely for them. Pregnancy involves a lot of attention on your baby. It can be nice to have an hour where somebody is looking after you instead.
WHEN CAN I START?
Reflexology can usually be enjoyed throughout pregnancy. If your pregnancy is considered high risk, you are under specialist care or there are medical complications, get in touch before booking. I may suggest that you check with your midwife or medical team first depending on what is happening.
LATER STAGES OF PREGNANCY
A lot of clients particularly enjoy treatments towards the end of pregnancy. By then, getting comfortable can be harder, sleep is often disrupted and there is a lot going on mentally as you get closer to the birth. I don’t claim that reflexology can start labour. What I can do is give you somewhere comfortable to stop and relax while you wait for your baby to arrive.
WHAT IF I’M HAVING A C SECTION?
That is completely fine. Pregnancy reflexology isn’t only for women planning a vaginal birth. You can still have reflexology in the lead up to a planned caesarean if you would like some time to relax before the birth.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME?
As often or as little as you like. Some people book one or two treatments during their whole pregnancy. Others come fairly regularly because they enjoy having that time set aside. There is no package you have to commit to.
